Thursday, 23rd February to Sunday, 26th February 2012The next UKCC Level Two Endurance 4 day workshop will be held near Newark. Below is further information about what is involved and how to book your place. Places are strictly limited so please apply as soon as you can. What is Involved You will attend a four-day workshop as above. You will complete a Portfolio which will be supplied to you at the begining of the course. You will have plenty of time to do this and it can be completed either by hand or on your computer. You will attend a final Assessment Day (probably in the autumn of 2012) where you will conduct two 30 minute practical coaching sessions and be assessed by independent approved Assessors. You will learn the outcome of your assessment on the day and have the opportunity to speak with your Assessors that day. The venue for the Assessment Day has yet to be agreed. How Much will it Cost? The cost of the workshop is £400 and must be paid in advance. There may be funding available from your local County Sports Partnership or other organisations. Please contact me if you need help in sourcing this. Endurance GB are also offering a 50% Coaching Bursary - please contact Julie Martin for details. Assistance will also be given in completing the paperwork if you are successful! The cost of the final Assessment Day is currently between £150/£175 per candidate. If you are unsuccessful at the final Assessment Day, you can attend a reassessment but you will have to cover the cost of this yourself. Once you have booked on your workshop, you will be sent a Candidate Registration Form in order to become a UKCC candidate with EQL (Equestrian Qualifications Limited). This involves a payment of currently £52.50 which will release your portfolio, provide you with your unique candidate number and cover the certification fee when you are successful. This must be paid to Endurance GB as the equestrian organisation responsible for the endurance UKCC qualification but the fee will be paid to EQL in its entirety. You will need to be a member of Endurance GB in order to attend the Assessment Day. What Else Will I Need You must have an up to date first aid certificate - either the British Horse Society ESFAC (Equine Specific First Aid Course) dates of your nearest course can be found on the BHS website, or a a 3-day First Aid at Work certificate. You do not have to have this to do the course but will need to have it before your assessment day. You must have attended either an online or realtime Child Protection course. These are available via the British Horse Society, Sports Coach UK, your local County Sports Partnership or online using Educare. On receipt of your Workshop Booking Form, you will receive a Navigation and Preparation Pack with details of the content of the workshop. This will be a mixture of classroom and practical activities. Hopefully, this gives you enough details to decide whether you wish to proceed with the Level Two UKCC Endurance course but if you need anything more please don't hesitate to contact me, Pauline Brimson 07860 868022 Booking form

- There is a lot of variation in the quality of coaching and coaching qualifications across sports
- There is a lot of good work but that sports are inward looking and don't work together
- We can all learn from each other and looking at other sports
- Significant Government support for coaching
