They must apply directly to the chosen Group who will provide enrolment forms and membership cards for new members. Associate Member benefits:- - Group Training and Social Rides (Non-Competitive Rides) or events at any EGB Group on payment at EGB Members’ rates
- Group newsletter – free, email or charge as appropriate to each Group.
- Insurance – Associate Members will be covered by the current EGB Insurance agreement (Public Liability) only at a Group Training or Social Ride or event. COVER DOES NOT APPLY AT ANY OTHER TIME OR EXTEND TO NON-COMPETITIVE OR PLEASURE RIDES LINKED TO COMPETITIVE RIDES ADVERTISED IN THE NATIONAL SCHEDULE WHEN TEMPORARY DAY MEMBERSHIP MUST BE PAID.
- If an Associate Member wishes to enrol as a Full Member of EGB (within a year of originally becoming an Associate Member) the joining fee for EGB Full membership will be waived. The Associate Member must inform the EGB Office that they wish to claim this privilege.
- Associate Members are eligible to attend Group General Meetings – with voting rights decided by individual Groups. Associate Members can attend National General Meetings but cannot vote.
Family Associate Members aged 13 and under are not permitted to ride unless accompanied by an adult. Horse Registration is NOT applicable to Associate Members. Associate Members are not eligible for National Trophies. Disciplinary and Grievance - Local arrangements will be made initially with appeal to national scheme in exceptional circumstances. Endurance GB Associate Membership Scheme Frequently Asked Questions - Are Associate Members covered by the EGB Insurance Scheme?
Only when they attend Group activities as an Associate Member. Not 24/7 cover which is enjoyed by Full Members (Public Liability) - Should this appear on the enrolment form?
Please tick here if you do not wish to receive promotional material from sponsors of Endurance GB YES - this appears on the Full Membership forms too - Will Associate members have access to the members forum on the website? NO - that is for FULL Members of EGB
Who assigns the Associate Membership number? – EGB Office. The Group Code and membership number will be assigned by the Office and emailed to the Group Representative who will issue the membership card to the new Associate Member. Family membership. Are families getting a copy of the members handbook and EGB Magazine for each member or one copy between them? One per family. - Do you know what time of year groups current associate members have to renew by? No - it will depend on the Group - but we intend to run this scheme Jan 1st to Dec 31st like everything else.
- When do we expect to start getting memberships in? ASAP – any Associate Membership applications received before the end of 2007 will run until 31.12.08
- If an Associate Member joins after June, do they get a half-yearly rate similar to the Full Membership reduction? YES
- Can a copy of all appropriate forms be downloaded from the EGBWebsite?
YES - obviously Groups will be encouraged to put all of this on their own websites - but not all of them have a website! - Who on each Group Committee will administer this scheme? Initially it will be the Groups Liaison Officer - who is probably the Chairman anyway - some Groups may appoint a specific Membership Secretary – it is up to the individual Groups, but a list of these contacts and their contact details must be lodged with the EGB Office.
- Are all Associate Membership queries to be directed to Groups? Ideally - yes - it is a Groups' responsibility to "service the needs" of their Associate Members.
- Can an associate member of one Group enter Training or Social Rides held by a neighbouring Group? Yes – they can enter at Associate Membership rates regardless of the Group. However, they must put their Associate Membership number on the Entry Form and show their Associate Membership Card at the Ride.
- Can the Associate Member ask the Ride Organiser to sign their Ride Record Card? Yes – the name of the Ride will be entered on the card.
- What classifications of Associate Membership do we have? Full-Riding? Non-Riding? Young? Junior? Veteran? Life? Associate Member - single classification for all whether sole or family member
- Is payment made to EGB Office? NO – the EGB Office just supplies the Associate Membership number that is compatible with the existing EGB Members’ Database. The Groups have to administer their own registrations and can keep the funds raised. If subscriptions are received at the Office they will be sent straight to the Chairman of the relevant Group.
- What happens if an Associate Member moves and moves Group as a result – do they get a new number? NO - they register with another Group as an Associate Member the office will tell them to contact the Chairman of the new Group - or if the Chairman already knows, then they will have informed the office. They will keep their Associate Membership number but the Group Code will change.
- How are renewals of EXISTING Associate Members to be handled? At the beginning of 2009, the computer system will have a list of Associate Members that will be lapsed until we tell the system that they have paid their subs for 2009.
- How is this to be communicated to the office by the Groups? The Groups will have to send lists of existing Associate Members to the office in time for them to be included in the post-outs - not sure of date yet but will find out!
- Are Associate Members covered by the EGB insurance? Only at Group Social and Training Rides and Group events – They must pay supplementary Temporary Day Membership £5 like everyone else for Pleasure Rides linked to Competitive Rides in the National Schedule.
- Can Associate Members register horses with EGB? . NO
- Are Associate Members eligible for National Trophies? NO
Individual Groups may choose to award Associate Member Trophies. - What happens if an Associate Member converts to a full member of EGB - They should apply and tell the office that they have been Associate Members in order to qualify for waived joining fee.
Copies of the enrolment forms, rider record cards, membership cards and posters are available from - hopefully I can include downloadable forms on this site in the near future! |
