1                    Qualifications

1.1  The Championship is open to all Thoroughbreds registered with Endurance GB for the current season.

1.2  The horse must be registered with Retraining of Racehorses.

1.3  The horse must have raced in order to participate in the Championship.

2                    Events that Count Towards the Championship

Only Competitive Rides listed in the official Endurance GB Ride Programme for the current year are eligible to count towards the Championship.  The horse must be ridden by a member of Endurance GB.

3                    Points System

The points which count towards the Championship will be calculated using the “Performance Formula”, which is as follows:

Points = (2 x Speed – Minimum Speed) x 100

                                Pulse

The Minimum Speed is that specified by the Endurance GB rules for the relevant class.  The Speed and Pulse will be taken from the ratified Endurance GB results.  The points calculated from the above formula will be rounded to one decimal place using the 4/5 rule.

The Championship is for the horse, not the rider, so points accumulated for more than one horse by a single rider will be accumulated separately for each horse.  The points accumulated by one horse with more than rider will all count towards the Championship for that horse.

The points for each Competitive Ride will be calculated for each horse after the results for the Competitive Ride in question have been confirmed by the Trophies Secretary.  The points for each Competitive Ride will be accumulated over the course of the current season.  Only the best SIX Graded Ride scores will be counted towards the total for the Championship 

4.                  League Table

A Retraining of Racehorses League Table with be published on the Endurance GB and Retraining of Racehorses websites from May onwards, updated once a month.

5.                  Prizes

Prizes and rosettes will be awarded down to 3^rd  place.  There will also be a special prize for the highest placed Novice horse.

The prizes for the Championship will be presented at Endurance GB’s Annual Dinner and Prize Giving in November of the current year.
