Young Riders Squad News

15th July 2010

Beth Langley has been selected to ride as an Individual in the Young Rider European Championships to be held in Kreuth, Germany from 2nd-8th August 2010.  Whilst Great Britain is committed to sending an Endurance Team to World and European Championships under the International Competition World Class Performance Plan adopted by EGB, it has not been possible to achieve this objective for 2010 and an exception has been made this year to send only one individual.  The new Team Management are working towards sending a Team overseas in future.

Thank you to Saintwestwell Saddlery & Skye Horse Transport for their support of the Young Riders
Lorna Winn of Saintwestwell Saddlery has kindly paid for the team to have rugs with 'British Young Rider team, World Championships '09' embroidered on them and Philip Hirst of Skye Horse Transport has purchased car windscreen stickers for the team reading 'U21 British Endurance Team'.

The Young Riders would like both companies to know how much their support is appreciated and we look forward to using the rugs and stickers.

WATERboy’s generous gift of 2 WATERboy units for the Young Riders & the Senior Team
Rosemary Attfield, Chef d’Equipe for the EGB Young Riders Team, met the WATERboy company at Hickstead earlier this year, as a result of which WATERboy have very generously donated two units of this very useful-looking item of equipment, including trolleys for ease of transport when at an event.
The Young Riders will take the units with them for the Young Riders World Championships at Babolna in Hungary in early September, and Amanda Flowers of the WATERboy company is hoping to follow them out there and see at firsthand how the team works.
The Senior team will also use the units in Asissi on 26th September, competing over 160km.
EGB is most grateful to WATERboy for their generosity and we look forward to seeing more of their units in use throughout endurance in the seasons to come!
Check out the WATERboy website for more information
